Job Description

An international mining company is seeking a Senior H&S Specialist to facilitate Health and Safety Management systems, investigations, hazard/risk assessments, and raise awareness of appropriate policies among the employees at one of its major mining sites.

Relocation assistance and a housing stipend will be provided to the selected candidate.

The Role:

• Direct employee activities such as risk assessments and raise general safety awareness among employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct safety audits, hazard evaluations and inspects facilities within the area of responsibility to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulatory laws.
• Manage safety projects and directly supervise other safety personnel on site.
• Train employees on various safety topics, including specialized safety training (e.g., confined space, LOTO) and Annual Refresher Training as required

The Candidate:

• Around 3-5 years experience overseeing H&S matters in a mining or industrial setting.
• Bachelor Degree preferred, but hands-on experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree
• Familiarity with OSHA, MSHA, and other relevant federal and state regulations
• Comfortable working in a mining setting and being able to meet the physical demands
