Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for an experienced and proactive interim Human Resources Manager to lead and support a wide range of HR operations and strategic initiatives to support our agriculture client located in Oxnard, CA on a 6+ month onsite engagement with the opportunity for extension. This position plays a critical role in fostering a high-performance culture by aligning HR practices with business goals across multiple farm locations and supporting the entire employee lifecycle. Working with minimal supervision, the HR Manager will serve as a trusted partner to field and production leadership, ensuring HR programs are effectively implemented and aligned with the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and execution of HR strategies that support operational goals.
• Provide hands-on support in HR administration, employee relations, and organizational development.
• Manage full-cycle recruitment for field positions, including job postings, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
• Oversee annual updates and distribution of field employee handbooks.
• Develop and implement performance management and employee development programs in collaboration with ranch managers and field leadership.
• Administer workforce engagement surveys and analyze data to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure competitive compensation practices for field incentive programs and overhead roles.
• Coordinate training programs, including compliance, new hire onboarding, leadership development, and competency building.
• Promote health and wellness initiatives across field locations.
• Collaborate with the Workers' Compensation team to ensure compliance with ADA/FEHA through effective interactive processes.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
• Maintain and manage HRIS and HR-related data systems.
• Act as a key advisor and resource to supervisors and employees on HR policy interpretation and implementation.
Qualifications:
• 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment-related laws and regulations.
• Proficient in HRIS platforms and talent management systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex HR operations across multiple locations.
• Bilingual – English and Spanish (required: speak, read, and write fluently).
• Professional certifications (preferred): PHR, PHR-CA, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
