The pediatric dental assistant plays a vital role in delivering top-tier patient care by assisting the dentist, educating children and parents about oral hygiene and administrative duties. This position ensures excellence in chairside support, patient interaction, and sterilization processes. Our Dental Assistants are essential to creating an efficient, compassionate, and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with a driven team of dental practice staff.
• Caring for patients who are treated like family.
• Working in an office that cultivates loyalty and unity.
• Seeing approximately X number of patients each day.
• Assisting through procedures in all areas of the clinical space.
• Contributing to supply and inventory management.
• Using all equipment with care and ownership.
• Improving daily essential tasks such as taking quality x rays, suctioning, and patient care.
• Completing opening and closing duties as team.

Patient Care & Chairside Assistance

• Greet and escort patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history updates.
• Alleviate patient concerns and provide comfort during procedures.
• Assist the dentist in procedures by anticipating needs and preparing materials.
• Take and process radiographs (x-rays) as required.
• Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene best practices.

Sterilization & Lab Duties

• Ensure proper sterilization of instruments and operatory cleanliness.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and comply with infection control protocols.
• Manage and restock inventory to ensure seamless operations.
• Follow all OSHA and HIPAA compliance guidelines.

Team Collaboration & Office Support

• Communicate effectively with front desk and clinical team members.
• Assist with scheduling, treatment planning, and administrative tasks as needed.
• Foster a team-oriented atmosphere that supports iGrin Pediatric Dentistry's mission and values.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications: Radiology certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred Experience: EDDA-accredited dental assisting program graduate and/or one year of dental assisting experience.
• Skills: Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 35 lbs., and maintain hand-eye coordination for precise tasks.
